||Nursing Assistant, Medical-Surgical Nursing Unit, PRN, Part-time, Full-time
||Shifts: Days, Evenings, Nights. Under the supervision of a licensed nurse, provides and assists in the safe and effective patient care of medical, surgical, adult, geriatric, and pediatric patients. The Nursing Assistant provides personal care including bathing, feeding and assisting patients with personal hygiene. Nursing Assistant perform BP and TPR’s, make progress assessments, deliver meals, maintain a secure environment, and perform treatments and other tasks. Conducts Hourly Rounding on patients. Participates in updating the White Board in the patients’ room.
|Education Level and Experience:
||Minimum of grammar school; high school diploma or equivalent is preferred. Completion of a Nurse Aide course; or completed within 1 year from date of hire. Basic Life Support (BLS)certification. BLS is not required for staff with Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications. State of Iowa Nurse Aid Registry listing or registry eligible required. Nursing Assistant experience desired. Computer skills; including keyboarding.

Ability to communicate positively with a variety of people including patients, families, visitors, clergy, hospital staff and Health Care Providers. Ability to work closely with others and to accept and carry out orders. Ability to recognize problems and normal from abnormal. Able to work flexible hours if needed. Demonstrates initiative for self-development. Mandatory Reporter. Legible handwriting; ability to print.
