Public Works Maintenance

The City of Nashua, Iowa, is accepting applications for a Public Works/Maintenance position.  Duties include, but are not limited to meter reads, red tags, shutoffs/reconnects, endpoint/meter changeouts, line locates, assisting with digs, jetting sewer lines, line locates, storm sewer upkeep and maintenance, flushing hydrants, maintenance of streets, parks and all city property including water/wastewater facilities upkeep and maintenance as well as assisting others as needed.

The applicant must have a high school diploma or equivalent; speak and write fluent English; have a valid Iowa Driver’s License and have or be able to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class B with air bakes within 3 months; Have or be able to obtain Grade 1 Water Treatment, Grade I Water Distribution, and Grade 1 Wastewater Treatment Certificate within allowable time frame(s) set by council, able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening and random DOT screenings as well as a background check.

Previous experience in maintenance, water/wastewater operation, grounds maintenance and heavy equipment operation is preferred.

This is a full-time position for 40 hours per week. Pay range is $20-$30/ hour and will be commensurate with experience and certification levels.
